REGRADING OF TEACHERS
A notice of question by Mr. E. P. Aderman( National, New Plymouth) in'the House of Representatives on Wednesday asked the Minister of Education whether he would indicate "the reason for the right of appeal against, present regrading and salaries for postprimary ' school teachers and manual and technical, instructors being suspended temporarily. Mr. Aderman said that, according to regulations 3 and 4 of the "Education Gazette," of October 10, there was no appeal against the present regrading and salaries, but the Department had undertaken to set up a committee, representative of teachers and the Department, to consider cases that might be submitted to it. Teachers who felt that an injustice had been .done in their cases were asked to refer the matter to their association, which would first consider it, and, if it thought an investigation' warranted, refer the matter to the Department for consideration by the committee. The usual right of appeal would be available to teachers against gradings published after the next annual regrading. ■"
