THE REV. H. G. BLACKBURNE

The Rev. H. G. Blackburne, who was born at St. John's College Auckland, and who served the church in New Zealand for a number of years, has died in England, aged 77. When he was still a boy his family went to England. There he took a degree at Cambridge University, and later held a position at the Bristol Cathedral. He returned to New Zealand in 1905 and was appointed vicar of Hinds, Canterbury. In later years he was vicar of Kilbirnie and of All Saints', Palmerston North. He was keenly interested in the Church of England Men's Society and did a great deal of work for that body. After he returned t"> England in 1924 he held the position of vicar of the parish of Sandgate. He is survived by his wife.
