MR. ARTHUR STONEHAM

P.A. GISBORNE, This Day. A prominent business man, Mr. Arthur Stoneham, died on Sunday, aged 75. He was born in Dunedin and was in business as a jeweller for over 50 years. As a youth Mr. Stoneham joined the Highland Rifles volunteer unit and rose to the rank of lieuten-ant-colonel, commanding the Otago Battalion. He was a prominent Freemason. Mr. and Mrs. Stoneham celebrated their golden wedding in 1943. Mr. Stoneham is~survived by his wife, two daughters, and a son, who is attached to the West African forces.
