STATEMENT DENIED

ISSUE OF ADVERTISEMENT

In a letter to "The Post," received today, the secretary of the Clerical Workers' Union; writing on behalf of the executive, gives a definite denial to "Mr. Appleton's statement, made in his election speech on Thursday evening, that the Clerical Workers' Union advertisement published that day was sent to the newspapers without the consent of the executive.

"The executive of the Wellington Clerical- Workers' Union (the letter states) strongly objects to this misleading statement about their organisation made by Mr. Appleton."
