THE LATE MR. NATHAN
Officiating at the funeral service for Mr. H. L. Nathan at the residence, Hobson Crescent, yesterday morning, RaVbi S. Katz said that Mr. Nathan had been civic-minded and publicspirited, always eager to help in an^ movement for the improvement of civ w and community life in Wellington. Iri all his dealings in human affairs ho had upheld the highest principles and noblest traditions of an English gentleman. He had been actively associated with the Synagogue, having served astreasurer of the Hebrew congregation for many years. There was a large and representative attendance at the residence' and at the Crematorium to pay respect to Mr. Nathan's memory. Mr. Nathan was one of four, repre* sentatives of the citizens of Wellington elected to the Wellington Harbour Board. Under the Harbours Act the vacancy caused by his death will be filled by appointment by the City Council.
