HEAVY RAIN CAUSES SLIPS
(P.A.) WESTPORT, Feb. 7. Heavy rain yesterday and this morning was responsible for a considerable amount of damage to the road and the railway in the northern part of the Buller district. Slips occurred on the Stockton public road, causing a blockage which has since been cleared. A big slip on the railway on the Seddonville side of the tunnel is temporarily holding up traffic over that part of the line. Slips also occurred on the Hector and Mokihinui roads and also on the Karamea road, north of Mokihinui, and gangs of men are at work clearing up the debrisl The weather has improved, and most of the,, damage done should soon be repaired.
