LONDON, January 28. Following the execution of 43 hostages at Athens and Salonika, Greek patriots, blew up an arsenal near the naval base at Salamis, killing 25 German officers and technicians and wounding others. ! The Germans then started a reign ■of terror at Salamis. Twelve hostages were executed in the main square, and the inhabitants were forced to line up and witness the hangings. The bodies were left on the gallows. It is reported from Athens that the Gestapo has ordered the delivery of all radios by January 31, except those owned by Germans and Italians. Five Greeks have been executed for sabotage. . . , The Belgian correspondent of "The Times" says that the Germans in the last five weeks have executed 69 Belgians, 50 of whom were hostages who wefe shot after attacks on Germans. • "The Times" Geneva correspondent says that M. Laval has banned the Salvation Army, which daily fed 7000 in Paris alone, because its work "overlapped the work of the Secours Nationale." ■
It is reported from Prague that several large convoys of Jews left Bohemia and Moravia for the prison fortress at Terezin, whence they are sent to eastern Poland. It is rumoured that the small number, of Jews left in Czecho-Slovakia are being deported within the next two months. Not a single Jew will be left by the end of March.
