W.N.R. Vote of Sympathy,

A vote of sympathy with Captain Hargraves and his family in their sad bereavement was passed at the recent meeting of the executive committee of the Owen Street Residential Nursery. A high tribute was also paid to the late Mrs. Hargraves, who for 13 years was president of the Kelburn-North-land branch and was a most earnest, enthusiastic, and successful worker and a great supporter of the Women's National Reserve in every way. Staff Helps Patriotic Funds. The staff of Bond Street Models recently held their annual dance and handed the net proceeds, £15, to the Wellington Metropolitan- Patriotic Fund, to help the sick and wounded, prisoners of war, and other patriotic needs. Among those who contributed to the evening programme were Mrs. Gustava Fairhall (a spectacular "Hula" dance), Mr. and Mrs. Bob Allan (rhumba and tango exhibition dance), and Miss Patricia Kennelly (tap dances). Miss- C. Anderson was secretary and Mr. Jardines acted as M.C. The management of Bond Street Models subsidised the financial results, hence the splendid credit for patriotic purposes.
