METHODIST MISSIONS

When the Methodist Conference discussed the work of the Auckland Central Mission yesterday, appreciation of the work of the Rev. A. Everil Orr and his staff of workers was expressed. It was announced that Mr. "William Astley, of Mt. Albert, Auckland, had recently handed over his home to the mission and that the property would shortly be used as a rest home. Appreciation also was expressed of the work of the Rev. L. B. Neale and his staff at the Dunedin Central Mission. It was pointed out that the mission had now been in existence for 50 years and that probably the work had never been on'a larger scale or more successfully carried out than during the last few years.
