GENERAL ELECTION STRAWS

Indications of the belief of the two major political parties that an early election is likely were given at New Plymouth this week.

The first was the wide distribution of a Labour Party pamphlet, of which it is stated 250,000 copies have been printed. Various Labour organisations are believed to be co-operating in the distribution.

Later came the announcement that the New Plymouth branch of the National Party was carrying its organisation a step further by the formation of district committees.
