SCARBOROUGH BY-ELECTION
(Rec. 12.40 p.m.) RUGBY, Sept. 25,
The Scarborough by-election resulted in the return of Mr. Spearman (Conservative) with 12,518 votes, Mr. Hippie (Independent Democrat) polling 8086. The vacancy was caused by the resignation of Sir Paul Latham (Conservative). Thirty-six per cent, of the , electors .voted. —B.Q.W,
