GEYSERS IN ACTION

(0.C.) ROTORUA, September 24. One of the best displays of thermal activity at Whakarewarewa during recent years was given yesterday' morning by the Pohutu geyser, which played for an hour and a half after it began at 9 a.m. For the rest of the day the geyser was playing at half-hour inter; vals. Not only was Pohutu especially active, but Waikorohihi was playing well and Waikite was spouting to a height of about 30 or 40 feet. Pohutu was playing steadily at about 60 to 70 feet after the first shot, which went up over 100 feet.
