HOSPITAL RATING

Councillor J. D. Sievwright has given notice of intention to propose a further motion regarding the change in incidence of hospital rating by making it a charge upon social security and national funds. He proposes that the council should make further representations as, since the Acting Prime Minister on June 20 wrote that he could not recommend that the present system be altered, the position had materially changed: at March 31, 1941 there was a surplus of £1,867,000 in the Social Security Fund. Councillor Sievwx'ight proposes that he and the Town Clerk shall be appointed a deputation to the Acting Prime Minister.
