CROQUET
The Trentham Croquet Club celebrated the official opening of their new greens recently in the, presence of a good attendance of members and supporters. Mrs. Kitchen, president, welcomed those present and gave a brief outline of the history pf the club, and Mr. J. H. Blewman (Mayor of Upper Hutt) congratulated the members on their progressive outlook and on the appearance of the surroundings and officially declared the club open. Competitions resulted as follows:— Peg, men, Mr. Randle; ladies, Mrs. Benge; angles, men, Mr. Rendle; ladies, Mrs. Harper; tunnel, men, Mr. Shadbolt; ladies, Mrs. Stewart; penny comEetition, Mrs. R. Grim wood (Pineaven); feltex bag competition, Mrs. Peggie (Trentham).
