MIDLAND COUNTIES ASSOCIATION
At the first gathering of the Birmingham and Midland Counties Association lor 1941 there was a good attendance. Mr. J. H. Whittaker presided. In a report of operations dur-, ing the first half of the official year the secretary stated that there had been an increase in membership and greater interest was being taken hi activities ,of the association. Refer ence was also made to the many successful evenings held and the contributions made to the sick and wounded appeal and the Overseas Seamen's Fund; An entertaining programme was provided by Mrs. Astill, Miss Brittain, and Mr. Belcher (songs), and Miss Crow (monologues). Miss Ngaixe Highet 'was accompanist. ,
