SHIPS DIVERTED TO LIBYA

It was announced in London todajy 'that the reason for the cut in the meat ration is because some of our meaptcarrying ships are now required to carry munitions to Libya. •■--Explaining the meat position, the Minister of Food, Lord Woblton, declared that the Government was deliberately sacrificing meat at Home for munitions in Libya. The difficulty arose from the British war effort, he said. They were attacking the enemy £nd striking hard blows at the Italians in. the Mediterranean, and to do this had to divert some of the ships jtfoat were previously carrying "meat.
