ACADEMY EXHIBITION.

The annual exhibition of the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts at the Art Gallery, Buckle Street, contains many interesting and attractive pictures. The standard of work is high compared with similar exhibitions held recently. In addition to pictures by New Zealand artists, a collection of 190 photographs of pictures by official British war artists in the present war is on view. These have been lent by Sir Harry Batterbee. Further sales at the exhibition are as follows: "The Swirling Stream," by T. A. McCormack; "A Grey Day, Pahautanui," by Nugent Welch; "Balcairn Downs/ by Archibald F. Nicoll. The gallery will be open every day this week and tonight and 6n Thursday evening from 7 to 9.30.
