WELSH SOCIETY
The monthly social of the Welsh Society recently took the form of an "Empire Night," at which guests and artists were present, representing the Royal Society of St. George, Manx Society, Men of Kent, Yorkshire, Birmingham, and other Homeland societies. The president (Mr. John Tucker) welcomed the visitors. The choir, under the conductorship of Mr. Reg. Morgan, sang two numbers, which were followed by songs by Mr. Cecil Chambers, Mr. Harry Phipps, Mrs. Wilman. and Master Albert MacGowan, a violin solo by Mr. Smith. Maori songs in costume by Mr. Tom Jenkins, humorous sketches and items by Mr. Reg. Morgan and party, Mrs. C. Chambers and Mrs. Jesson, Yorkshire stories by Mr. Hemingway, and elocutionary items by Miss Dorothy Seymour and Miss Hazel McNatty. The accompanists were Misses Hardy and Campbell, Mrs. Chambers, and Mr. Morgan. The visitors included Dr. and Mrs. Houghton, Miss N. E. Donovan, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew McKay, the Rev. and. Mrs. Costain, Mr. and Mrs H. Phipps.l and Mr. Hemingway. \
