ESPERANTO CULTURE CIRCLE
The monthly meeting of "La Esperantista Kultura Rondo de Wellington" was held on Thursday evening. There was a large attendance of members and visiting Esperantists from the four Wellington clubs, and one from Masterton. In accordance with the rules of the rondo, Esperanto only was spoken to give maximum opportunity to everyone to speak the language. Mr. Ernie Sharp played classical compositions on the piano, and later officiated as pianist when Messrs. Lloyd Jowers and Nelson Hill entertained with several popular songs translated into Esperanto. The president, Mr. Bertram Potts, gave a talk on "Memorkalendaro" ("A Memory Calendar"), which was followed by an epidiascope talk by Mr. Graeme Ayson on "Libertempo en Kerikeri" ("A Holiday in Kerikeri"), the photos being projected on to a screen. An instructive and enjoyable evening closed with community singing in Esperanto and general conversation.
