RECOGNITION BY NAZIS
STATUS OF BRITTANY
POSSIBLE SEPARATISM IN
FRANCE
(Received July 30, 1 p.m.) GENEVA, July 29. An official German communique announces that Germany has expressly recognised the existence of Brittany, whose status is being internationally fixed by bilateral treaties. The Germans are representing France as a conglomerate of peoples including Basques, Catalans, Flemings, and Walloons, possibly as a presage to further separatist moves.
