SAVING OF DELAY

SYDNEY, This Day.
The Minister for Air, Mr. J. V. Fairbairn, stated today that the Government was considering the possibility of establishing an air service between Brisbane and Noumea connecting with the Pan-American Pacific service.
He admitted that such a service would to some extent compete with the Trans-Tasman service in which the Commonwealth and New Zealand were closely concerned, but pointed out that if Pan-American and TransTasman schedules failed to coincide at Auckland, a Noumea-Brisbane service would save considerable time in arrival at Sydney of mails and passengers from America.
