POLITICAL UNITY
NO FINALITY YET
It was ascertained this morning that developments in connection with the negotiations for closer political unity have not yet reached finality. There are several points on which discussion is proceeding, but the delay in coming to a conclusion does not indicate any deadlock.
The Financial debate will be continued in the House of Representatives today. Opposition members have intimated their intention of taking an active part in the discussion, but the absence of any" strong party tone in the debate is likely to provide further corroboration of the fact that the possibility of closer association for war purposes is still a live issue.
