SECRET SESSION
ENDED LAST NIGHT
LOYALTY AND AID TO BRITAIN
The secret sitting of the House of Representatives, which began on Tuesday night and was continued yesterday afternoon, was finished last night, the House adjourning at 10.25 until 2.30 this afternoon, when the financial debate was resumed.
Altogether twenty-eight members took part in the discussion during the secret session. On the first day, in addition to the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser), there were six other speakers., Yesterday twenty-one members spoke.
Before the House adjourned the following resolution was carried unanimously:— "That this House expresses to the Government, Parliament, and the people of the United Kingdom the firm intention of the Dominion of New Zealand to devote every effort and to utilise every available resource to assist the Mother Country in the great struggle that is now proceeding; and reaffirms the unalterable determination of the Dominion to continue this struggle side by side with the United Kingdom and the other members of the British Commonwealth till the final victory is attained."
