ART UNION FOR HOME
FOR PATRIOTIC FUND
A SECTION IS NEEDED
The secretary of the Hutt Valley Master Builders' Association announces that his association has made an offer to arrange for the erection of an attractive dwelling in a suitable locality to be handed over free of cost or encumbrance to the Patriotic Council to be made the subject of a Dominion-wide art union for patriotic purposes. The proposal has been enthusiastically received by merchants and sub-contrac-tors having trading interests in the valley, and many portions of the cost of the building have already been generously donated.
The association is arranging for the necessary guarantees required by the Government, and will' be responsible for the labour cost of supervision and erection. The dwelling will be a fiveroom home of attractive design. Mr. W. Keith Cook, A.N.Z.1.A., A.R.1.V.A., is the architect.
The proposal lacks one essential—a suitable building section in the Hutt Valley, preferably in Lower Hutt. This is not causing very much concern at present as it is felt that some generous citizen will be willing to provide the section that is required. The association advises that it will be glad to receive offers at the address of its secretary, Mr. L. V. Phillips, Public Accountant, 83 High Street, Lower Hutt (telephone 63-988.
