CHRISTCHURCH, This Day,

Pilot-Officer John Douglas Bruorton McKenzie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas McKenzie, of Deans Avenue, Riccarton, is reported missing following an air operation on May 11.

Pilot-Officer McKenzie joined the Air Force in 1937. He took an engineering course and was with East Coast Airways at Gisborne until it closed down. Later he joined Union Airways at Palmerston North, and then Cook Strait Airways, at Nelson, l^ater he joined the Air Force and continued his engineering training at the De Havilland factory.
