NEW POTATOES IN HEAVY SUPPLY.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) PUKEKOHE, December 4. Heavy supplies of new potatoes continue to come forward from growers at Pukekohe, and the price has' receded since last Monday from 21s per cwt for Pukekohe to 16s 6d. Approximately 100 tons were railed away from here today. Green vegetables maintain last Monday's values, drumhead cabbages still bringing 5s a chapman bag and 7s 2d a sack; Enfield cabbages, 6s a chapman bag and 8s 9d a sack; cauliflowers, 7s 2d chapman bag and 10s 6d a sack; and green peas, 7s 6d a sugar-bag. The demand for greens is not very strong now, many people satisfying their requirements from their own home gardens. Tomato plants were at 6s 6d a tray of 50 today, as against 5s a week ago. ■
