Ttje results of the second round of the champion fours competition of the Kelburn Bowling Club are as follows: —J. R. Smith beat Reid; McAneny beat Neilsen; Dbherty beat Purvis; Strickland beat Wylie; Lyall beat Pears; Wicks beat .Morgan; T. / Gray beat Thomson; Middleton beat Tullett. The rinks with two wins are those skipped by J. R. Smith, Strickland, Wicks, T. Gray, and Middleton. Despite the weather good progress is- being made with the singles and pairs. Last week four rinks visited the Hutt Club for the midweek com- [ petition and were successful in winning three games of the four played. Williams 19 beat Watkins 14; Lyall 22 beat Hewer 21; Wicks 22 beat Tarniblyn 16: Morgan '18 lost to Shearer 23 ' The Kelburn rink, Watkin, Long. Spence, and Wicks, holders of the Hill Pins, was successful in withstanding challenges from the Lyall Bay and Newtown Clubs. Members of the club learn with great regret that their esteemed and hard-working secretary (Mr. J. S. Widdop) is again laid up and unable to take part in the club's activities.
