Recreation week is to Se observed in Masterton from September 29 to October 7 with a series of sports fixtures and entertainments. The programme was approved by a meeting of the Masterton, Mauriceyille, and Castlepoint Physical Welfare and Recreation District Committee, at which representatives of several . sporting, recreational, and cultural organisations were present. The programme'provides for hockey matches, a display by inter-house girls and the Wairarapa College, a Rugby match between exWairarapa representatives and a Wellington team, entertainments by the Masterton Amateur Operatic Society, Little Theatre Society, and Orchestral Society, and a basketball contest.
