SECOND DIVISION

ONSLOW V. MIRAMAR

Capacity by the Onslow backs to capitalise mistakes by their opponents, and the failure of tlie Miramar rearguard to put possession to any practical purpose, enabled the former team to defeat the championship leaders, 6-3. In other words, Onslow's opportunism carried tlie day, for on the general run of play a draw would nave been a very fair reflection of tho relative merits of the two sides. Miramar's strength lay in their pack and Potier at half, and Onslow's in their backs. It was faulty play by Miramar, curiously eoungli each time in their opponent's twenty-five, that gave Onslow their two tries. Muir and Little scored tries for Onslow and Janes for Miramar.

The referee was Mr. E. G. Mildenhall
