A GREAT RECOVERY
Judging by the play in the first spell it looked as though AVellington would bo beaten by Pirates, at AA'akefleld Pa.rk, but they made a great recovery and dominated th.c second half. Rouxel was• injured in tho first spell and replaced b.v Rolls. Pirates attacked time after time in the early part of the game, and Wellington managed only one or two good movements. It was a different story ln tlie second half, however, and AA'ellington were definitely on top. Play was mainly in the vicinity of Pirates' tweiity-flve-yard line. For AA'ellington, Cragg and Shand scored tries, and Lang kicked two penalties. Bowden kicked three penalties for Pirates. Tlie final score was Wellington 12, Pirates 9.
