DOMINION AWARD
THE FOOTWEAR INDUSTRY
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.
A 40-hour five-day week and a minimum wage of 2s 6|d for males is provided for in the new Dominion footwear manufacturing industry award, agreed to by a conciliation council this morning. The minimum rate for females of over five years' experience is £2 17s 6d a week. The wages are retrospective to April 3 and the award will continue for a year.
