TOURNAMENT AT OTAK!
RAILWAY
Bowlers from Manawatu, Wellington, and' Horowhenua met on the Otaki Railway green at the weekend. The green was heavier than usual on account of rain which fell in the early morning, but it became faster as play progressed. ■ Some very, interesting games were played, the one between Brackenridgeand Nissen being keenly contested, the former winning by two points. The Barker-Noad match was also a fine one. The winning rink was a local one, Rolfe, Barrett, A. Brown, and Nicolson (s).
OTAKI V. LEVIN
Otaki sent six rinks to Levin on Saturday and suffered defeat- by five games to one. Fine play was witnessed and an enjoyable day was spent. The green was in good play-, ing order. The Otaki green will be closed on Saturday next, when visitors are expected from various parts. The Country pennant and certificates were on Saturday handed to Mr Byron Brown, president of the Otaki Club. This club has won the pennant ever since the contest was started.
