A CIRCUS ACT

There was recently a remarkable exhibition of horsemanship in the Munja Handicap at Wayville, Adelaide. Shortly after the start, the. off-side rein of Fulbloom, driven by R. Glasgow, broke, and the horse took command of his driver. F. Elmer, driver of "Walla Ribbons, who was leading the field, grabbed the remaining rein, and for a-round and a half checked the runaway. Glasgow stood up in his gig, jumped on to Fulbloom's back, and ultimately pulled him up. Elmer kept Walla Ribbons going, and held off Rose Machine and Lv Adon to win comfortably. Both reinsmen received a wonderful ovation. Mrs. L. V. Oday, owner-trainer of Fulbloom, was fined £1,0 by the stewards for having allowed the horse to go out with a faulty rein.
