Word has been received that V. P. Boot, New Zealand and Empire Games half-mile track champion, will compete at the Hutt Amateur Athletic Club's meeting on Monday evening, and also at the Civil Service sports at the Basin Reserve next Wednesday, subject to the necessary permission being granted by the Canterbury Amateur Athletic Centre. Boot, who has just completed a successful visit to New South Wales, where he won the State half-mile and mile titles in excellent time, will arrive in Wellington on Monday from Sydney by the Awatea.
