RESIDENTIAL NURSERY

The management committee of the Women's National Reserve Residential Nursery, Owen Street, met recently, Mrs. Porter presiding over a good attendance. The matron reported that a full number of babies had been in residence and expressed much appreciation of gifts,donated. Mrs. Porter spoke of the gratitude expressed by parents for the care bestowed upon the little ones.

The treasurer (Miss Wiltshire) reported that the following donations had been received for September, for which the members expressed sincere thanks:—Seatoun branch, special donation, £6 ss; KelburnNorthland branch, £10 3s; Khandal-lah-Ngaio branch, £10 10s; Lower Hutt branch, £5 ss; Oriental Bay-Rose-neath branch, £5; Thames branch, £3 3s; Wadestown branch, £2 5s 6d; Mrs. Meier, 10s.

The gift of a cupboard by the Seatoun branch was much appreciated. The painting of the milk cupboard and alteration of shelves by the Oriental Bay-Roseneath branch was greatly appreciated. Thanks were expressed for gifts in kind from Mrs. D. H. Taylor, Mrs. Brewer, Melrose branch (box of tea); Khandallah branch, Berhampore branch, Mrs. Bramley, Mr. Irvine, Miss Sheppard, Mrs. Ross, Seatoun branch, Queen Margaret College (girls), Miss Freeman, Mrs. A. B, Gibbons,' Mrs,. Peterson, Mrs.'Porter, Mrs. R. G. Huggins, Mrs. Beales, Mrs. Hooson, Mrs. Forbes.

A savoury supper was served and the guests spent an enjoyable half-! hour or so in social intercourse before departing.
