RIDER BY JURY

The trial of Charles Bruce Pierson, motor trimmer, aged 19, on a charge of negligently driving a motor-car so as to cause the death of William Samuel Ridler, was concluded in the Supreme Court yesterday afternoon, the jury finding Pierson not guilty. Mr. R. L. A. Cresswell appeared for Pierson. The jury were out for a little over two hours, during which time arrangements were made for them to inspect the scene of the accident. The "jury added a rider to the effect that in their opinion the position of the taxi stand in Nairn Street, near the intersection of Brooklyn Road and upper Willis Street, constituted a danger to the traffic using upper Willis Street. Mr. Justice Quilliam undertook to send on the representation to the proper quarter^ .
