MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Silas Hicks Palmer, a waterside worker, aged 33, who appeared before Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today charged with a third statutory offence of drunkenness, was convicted and fined £1, in default seven days' imprisonment.
Bessie Lodge, a domestic, aged 45, was convicted and fined £1, in default 48 hours' imprisonment, for using obscene language in a public place. On a charge of drunkenness she was convicted and discharged.
Henry Edward Turner, a seaman and labourer, aged 52,. was convicted and fined 10s for a second offence of drunkenness.
A remand until next Thursday was granted Herbert Henry Ash, a machinist, aged 22, who was charged with the theft' of an attache case and contents of a total value of £8 2s.
Bernard Holmes, a labourer, aged 28, who was charged with the theft of six blankets, of a total value of £4 17s 6d, and with the attempted theft of nine blankets, of a total value of £4 15s, the property of the Salvation Army, was remanded to appear next Friday.
