OBITUARY
MRS. JESSIE HILDA BEAR
The death has occurred at her residence, 4 Waipapa Road, Hataitai, of Mrs. Jessie Hilda Bear, wife of Mr. C. Wemyss Bear, of Messrs. James Smith, Ltd. A daughter <fE the late Mr. and Mrs. George Evans, she was 57 years of age, and had been a resident of Hataitai for 27 years. For some years past she had been a confirmed invalid. Prior to that time Mrs. Bear took a very active part in the social, charitable, and welfare interests of the district, and the older residents of Hataitai will remember her enthusiastic and unselfish service in many a good cause when the district consisted mainly .of recently married couples rearing young families. For many years Mrs., Bear was president of the Hataitai' branch of the Women's National Reserve, which rendered excellent service during the influenza, epidemic of 1918. Mrs. Bear, who was of a quiet and gentle disposition, was beloved by a host of friends. The deepest sympathy will be felt for her husband arid son, Mr. Winton Graham Bear, of the Land and Income Tax Department.
