BULB INDUSTRY

Mrs. Knox Gilmer journeyed to Wanganui yesterday for 'the purpose- of opening the local spring show. There was the largest gathering of citizens that had, so far, graced this function. Mrs. Gilmer, in her address, stressed the fact that, there was an important industry awaiting development in New Zealand, namely, that of bulb growing for the market. Each year, Mrs. Gilmer stated, large quantities of bulbs were imported which could, with advantage, be grown, in the Dominion. At present the supply was not equal to the demand, and the industry should be encouraged and fostered in New Zealand. '
