SOUTH AFRICAN VETERANS
There was a good attendance at the fortnightly card party of the Wellington South African War- Veterans' Association, held at the clubrooms, Lambton Quay, on Saturday night. The guests thoroughly enjoyed the games, which were keenly contested, and the supper, which was served during the interval by the ladies' committee, was much appreciated. Mrs. D. McLennan and Mr. P. Michaelsen secured the highest points at bridge; Mrs. E. Harris and Mr. D. Brosnan^won at "500"; and Mrs. P. Adamson and Mr. J. Harmon won the euchre prizes. Mrs. R. V. A. Knox won a competition, and a special prize of an electric hot water jug, donated by the ladies' auxiliary, was won by Mrs. L. J. Knox. The ladies' auxiliary will hold an afternoon at the clubrooms on Wednesday week. '
