LABOUR DAY SPORTS
At a meeting of the Labour Day celebration committee held in the Trades Hall, Wellington, recently, it was decided to make the customary application to the N.Z.A.A.A., the N.Z.A.C.A., and the New Zealand Caledonian Society for permits to stage athletic, cycling, and dancing events. The Wellington harrier sub-commit-tee intimated that it desired to run its marathon event, to be known as the Wellington district championship, in conjunction with the sports. It is proposed to run inter-house relay races, tug-of-wars, and a cycle relay race in addition to the ordinary athletic, cycling, and dancing events.
The following sports committee was elected: —Messrs. W. -Fox (president), P. E. Warner (secretary), P., J. O'Neill, R. Spence, H. Thompson, and P. Carmichael.
