SLOW PROGRESS

MAUNGANUI FROM SYDNEY

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, August 26. The following message was received by the Press Association from Captain Morgan, master of the Maunganui, which is delayed in the Tasman by a fierce gale:—

"On clearing Sydney Heads we met strong easterly winds and head seas, which on Wednesday increased to gale force, still from the eastward, with a heavy head sea. As the sea was dangerous speed was reduced accordingly and as yet slow progress is being made."
