UNUSUAL RECORD
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) MARTON,. This Day. The oldest acting returning officer in the British Dominions, district Coroner at Marton for over 18 years, returning officer for many years, and with a long and distinguished record in the Public Service to his credit, Mr. F. C. Wilson, former Mayor, health officer, and Town Clerk of Marton, was accorded a very high tribute from fel-low-citizens at a representative gathering at the Court^ House today. Mr. Wilson was eulogiied by several speakers and presented by the Mayor, Mr. F. Purnell, with a substantial cheque subscribed to by well-wishers. Mr. Wilson, who is 85 years of age, recently retired from the offices of returning officer and district Coroner. During his service in the latter capacity he conducted 160 inquests.
