INTOXICATION CHARGE

"ILL HEALTH NO EXCUSE"

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. 11l health is no excuse for being intoxicated in charge of a motorcar. This point was made clear in the Magistrate's Court today by Mr. F. F. Reid, S.M. "It has been said before, in both the Magistrate's and Supreme Courts, that it is double reason why alcohol should not 'be taken," said the Magistrate. Ernest Lancelot Henry Brown, aged 60, retired, pleaded guilty to a charge of being intoxicated in charge of a car, and was fined £20 and his licence was cancelled until September, 1939. The police said that Brown collided with a stationary van.
