TRAIN STRIKES CAR
EARLY MORNING SMASH
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., This Day. Following a collision between a car and a goods train at the Ruahine Street crossing in the city shortly before 2 o'clock this morning three persons were admitted to hospital. Miss M. Isaacs received a broken leg and a cut on the head, Miss Engles suffered from shock, and J. Wood from severe concussion. The condition of the patients, all of whom belong to Palmerston North, is satisfactory. The car involved was a taxi. It was struck by the train near the driver's seat. The driver, J. J. F. Levens, injured his forehead and knees, and a fourth passenger, J. A. Miller, though thrown for a considerable distance, wag unhurt, ~._ „
