CONTRACT BRIDGE

The following are the results of tournaments held at the Wellington Bridge Club during June. Mrs. Hutchison is still at the top of the individual ladder, with Dr. Hutchison second and Mr. C. Wilson third. The results for June 7 were: —Dr. Finlay and Mr. A. T. Duncan, top for North-South, and Mrs. Petry and Mr. Maxfield top for East-West, and for June 21. Mr. H. Burns and Mr. C. Wilson top for NorthSouth and Mrs. P. C. Rose and Mrs. F. Gill for East-West.

Goblets were won at recreation evenings *by Mrs. Hornibrook and Mrs. Beakiston (N.S.), and Mr. and Mrs. H. Wilkinson (E.W.) on June 14, and Mrs. McDermont and Mr. W. H. Young (N.-S.) and Mrs. E. Johnston and Mrs. McLean (E.-W.) on June 30:

The leading teams in the "Yankee" tournament are Mr. Joplin's team (Mrs. Joplin, Mrs. Sampson, and Miss Kirwin), one loss; Mr. A. T. Duncan's team (Mrs. Duncan, Miss Z. Chapman, and Mr. Schneider), Mrs. Turner's team (Mrs. Kofoed, Mrs. Miles Samuel, and Mrs. Emanuel), Mrs. Bank's team (Mrs. Forster,; Mrs. Gill,, and Mrs. O'Donovan), Miss Bunny's team (Dr. and Mrs. Hutchison and Mrs. H. H. Young), two losses each.

Mr. A. T. Duncan's team (Mrs. Duncan and Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Young) is holding the lead in the "teams of four championship," with Dr. Hutchison's team (Mrs. Hutchison, Mr. Wilkinson, and Mr. Rainey) second. Mrs. Page's team (Mrs. Joplin, Mrs. Sampson, .and Mr. Maxfield) and Mrs. Vogel's team (Mrs. Turnbull, Mrs. Gibson Stott, and Mrs. Nathan) tie for third place.

The leading pairs in the ladies' afternoon tournament are Mrs. Rose and Miss Chapman first, Mrs. A. S. Housten and Mrs. Berendsen second, and Mrs. G. F. Jackson and Mrs. Walls third.

The results of the afternoon held on June 13 were:—Mrs. Jackson and Mrs. Walls, top for N.-S.; and Mrs. Housten and Mrs. Berendsen for E.-W.

An innovation in a combined Mit-chell-Patton movement match of 20 a side was played by the men against the ladies, and:a qlose contest resulted In a win for the men by 2770 points.
