DANCE RECITAL

KINDERGARTEN ASSISTED

The pupils of Miss Margaret Oates gave a particularly attractive performance recently at the Rongotai. College Assembly Hall in aid of the Miramar Kindergarten. The technique , and' mime were of a very high standard and the costuming was excellent.

Juniors and "very juniors" were happily featured in several numbers, which included "The Girl on the Little Blue Plate," a delightful Dutch scena, and a skipping ballet of eight. The senior classes gave a good account of themselves in "The Fleet's in Port" and "When the Poppies Bloom Again"; also character, tap, operatic duos, and ensembles.

Much-appreciated elocutionary numbers were given by Lawrence Constable and the Orpheus Sextet was heard in a delightful bracket of songs. The music was supplied by Miss Oates, Mr. R. Firth, and Piper N. McLeod. The arrangements for the stage, lighting, and curtains were made by Messrs. D. J. Constable, E. W. Brooks, K. Richardson, and Stan Rea.
