DAMAGE TO HIDES
COSTLY ANNUAL LOSS
(Received November 5, 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, November 4. A monograph issued by the Imperial Institute says that Empire producers are losing several millions of pounds yearly because of faulty.preparation of hides and skins, which are needlessly damaged and realise only a fraction of their value. The: monograph urges Dominion producers to prevent damage by disease, warble«fly, barbed-wire scratches, and branding on the butt instead of the >ar or cheek.
