QUESTION IN HOUSE
The letting, of. con tracts for building State houses was the subject of a question in the House of Representative* this morning, when Mr. J. Hargest (National, Awarua) gave notice ,to • ask the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage) if his attention had been drawn to a published statement regarding houses at Johnsonville. ' This statement, said Mr. Hargest, was that the Housing Department had let the construction of a block of twenty houses without public tender. If that was so, was that to be the Government policy in the 'uture, he asked? ■'~..
