CARPETS OF HUMAN HAIR
Included in Germany's latest plan for saving raw materials is the use of human hair for the making of carpets and felt, states an overseas writer.
Hairdressers throughout the country are asked to start collecting human hair of every kind and length.
Short hair which has hitherto been regarded as useless, will be included, for short hair has proved most useful in the production of felt. , Experiments with carpets made of one-third human hair are said to have been successful.
It is hoped* that a well-organised collection by all hairdressers will yield from 400,0001b to 1,000,0001b of hair annually. 7
